The Centre for Canadian Language Benchmarks (CCLB) is committed to providing our visitors with a web site that respects their privacy.

This page summarizes the privacy policy and practices on all the Centre for Canadian Language Benchmarks web sites.

No personal information is collected on our web site through the use of cookies or other such tools. The CCLB may use anonymous statistical information provided by the host of our web site to prepare statistical information on the usage of our website.

Where we do collect personal information, the information is collected directly from the user with the user’s knowledge and consent. The CCLB collects only such information from individuals as is needed to allow us to provide our services to them. This may include the development of new features and services relevant to users and stakeholders, contacting individuals and/or organizations by e-mail about future events, services or promotions and to provide further information related to the issue around which the individual supplied their personal information.

Personal information received via e-mail is provided only to our office personnel who require the information to respond to inquiries. We do not use this information for any other purpose.

When information is collected we will ensure that the user is informed of how the information is to be used and to make certain that the information collected is used only for the stated purpose.

The CCLB will not sell, trade, barter or exchange any of the information that is collected. The CCLB will not share information with any outside organizations except when required or permitted by law or with the express approval of the individual concerned.

The CCLB does collect e-mail addresses and other information when users subscribe to our newsletter. This information is used to provide users with information on new editions of the newsletter as well as periodic updates and information relating to relevant subject matters. Any subscriber can have their name removed from the subscription list at any time by sending an e-mail request to info@language.ca

If you join a Centre for Canadian Language Benchmark online discussion group, we may ask you to volunteer personal information such as your name and e-mail address for the purposes of effective administration of the discussion group. Our groups are limited to member-only discussions and as such cannot be accessed by the general public. Any personal information you supply will not be disclosed to anyone except CCLB authorized personnel who need the information, (e.g., to respond to your request) or who monitor the discussion board on the CCLB’s behalf.

When an individual registers for one of our online bulletin boards, some personal information is required to register and obtain a password. This information is used strictly to provide you with access to the forum. Please remember that any information you post to a forum is available for all members to see. The CCLB does not disclose personal information about the members of the bulletin boards.
